Anne Swigard, M.Ed., President of Educational Training Specialists, has been performing staff development for teachers, professional development for teachers and teacher workshop since 1998, at the site, district, state and national levels. She has trained thousands of teachers in best practices related to the field of second language acquisition, literacy, vocabulary development, and best teaching practices. She has worked with students K-Adult, in Bilingual, Immersion, Dual Language, Structured English Immersion, and English as a Second Language environments, and is a qualified trainer of SIOP™, SDAIE, 6 Traits, and Thinking Maps™. Her original trainings are a synthesis of best practices in every aspect of education, including Robert Marzano, et al’s Strategies that Work, brain research, integrated curriculum, and research related to second language acquisition. She has lived in four countries, taught in Korea and Japan, and is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Autumn Bolin, M. Ed. – Autumn has a wide breadth of experience in the teaching field. Over the past 10 years, she has taught at the secondary level, as well as serving as faculty for five colleges. She has specialized experience in working with teachers and students in the Language Arts, as well as students who are learning in a second language. She is also a certified yoga instructor.

Jennifer Wells, MA. Ed. – Jennifer is a popular and dynamic presenter. As a seasoned practitioner with 12 years’ experience, she possesses several endorsements, including Gifted and Talented, Media, and ESL. She has been an Educational Consultant for five years, focusing her attention on research-based strategies for English Language Learners, student engagement, and Cooperative Learning. She has taught for several years in Title One schools, and is recognized by her peers as a highly effective and skilled teacher. She has a passion for educating students and teachers on the best practices for all learners.
Johanna Callaway, M.Ed. – Johanna has been in education for over 15 years, working not only as a teacher, but as a teacher trainer for teachers who work with second language learners. Also, Johanna is a certified principal and works as the director of the Title III summer school program in her district. She has been trained in, and has presented on, a wide variety of topics, including student engagement, strategies for working with English Language Learners, and How to write lesson plans for Second Language Learners. In addition, Johanna works as Adjunct Faculty for Rio Salado where she was named Adjunct Faculty of the Year. She teaches both ESL courses to adults and a wide variety of reading courses.
Melissa Fox – Melissa has dedicated the past 40 years to the education of not only K-12 students as a classroom teacher, but to adult “lifelong learners” as well. Her years of teaching at the University level encompassed Educational Methods and Centers Across the Curriculum. She has complimented her background in English Language Learners through travels to Asia, Central America, Europe, and is involved in establishing a K-6 school in rural Cambodia. Love of the Arts prompted applying for, and receiving, successful multi-year high dollar Federal Grants for her Elementary School campus, including not only extensive study in visual arts, music, drama, dance, but also Reading through the Arts programs. Multiple districts have utilized her staff development expertise and she has been awarded Westside Impact Teacher of the Year. Presentations include Maintaining Creativity While Raising Test Scores, Structured English Immersion Strategies, Student Engagement, and Hands On Learning.
Patricia Messer, M.Ed. – Patricia has been in the Education field for over 20 years. She is an expert in, and has presented on, many topics, including Differentiated Instruction, Gifted and Talented Education, and Strategies to Improve Reading Comprehension. She was recently named Teacher of the Year in the state of Arizona for 2009.

Teresa Toraason – Teresa Toraason, Elem. Ed-Teresa has been in the education field for 15 years. She has had the opportunity to teach in both Bilingual and ESL settings at both the elementary and secondary levels. Teresa served as a district ELL Mentor and on-site representative. Teresa’s passion for student learning and helping teachers reach their students has led to presenting in Best Practices in Language Acquisition, SIOP, 6-Traits Writing, and Managing Challenging Behavior.
